Scott started drilling in 1990 at Aqua Drilling & Grouting under the guidance of his father Graeme Barnes.

Scott and his brother grew Aqua Drilling & Grouting from 1 rig to 11 rigs. In 2008, Aqua Drilling & Grouting was purchased by Boart Longyear. Scott continued working at Boart Longyear, and assisted the company in expanding its Environmental and Infrastructure sonic division with an additional 7 sonic drill rigs, until Boart closed its Victorian division in late 2012.

Scott’s role at Star Drilling utilises his extensive experience in providing technical drilling advice and business development and management. Scott holds Class 3 Drillers Licenses in every state and territory in Australia.
